Renewable Machines and Power Electronics

This seminar took place on 4 September 2013 in Birmingham, UK and was supported by the IET Power Generation, Conversion and Utilisation (PGCU) Network and was supported by the IET Energy Sector and the Electronics, Sensors and Photonics Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN).

A very interesting and stimulating day in Birmingham which brought together IET and KTN members to discuss and debate the current and future innovations in Renewable Energy Generation Machines with some additional insights into the use of Power Electronics.

The IET’s PGCU had around 60 attendees from industry and academia in attendance with a good mix of young, senior and retired engineers. The feedback was very positive with a lot of debate and discussion went on within the room and during the breaks. The quality of the talks was very informative and have prompted additional ideas for follow up activities, in particular an event to be organised by the KTN on the Power Electronics within Renewable Generation Machines in the near future.
