Events calendar

Our local events have been added to the Combined Calendar of Events hosted by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).   The calendar can be found here http://www.cc-events-wales.org.uk/.  Local event information will be updated and published both here (scroll down to the bottom of this page) and on the combined calendar website so please check back frequently.

Learning Welsh!

In Wales it is often useful for Engineers and Managers to learn Welsh to help promote their careers and job propects, indeed, in many jobs, a knowledge of the Welsh Language is often essential to gain employment. In Denbigh, there is a centre dedicated to the teaching of Welsh to adults. Please visit Canolfan Iaith Clwyd  for more information!

  • 7th April 2015, Annual General Meeting

  • The Wales Rally GB will be visiting Deeside on the 13th / 14th November 2014, visit www.walesrallygb.com for more details.

  • "Illuminating The Future - Goleu'r Dyfodol" a one day seminar exploring the low carbon opportunities for future energy needs. A joint event with the Engineering and Science Group North Wales - Grwp Peirianneg A Gwynddoniaeth Gogledd Cymru. This event to be held on the 13th November 2014 at Bangor University, see Low Carbon Energy Event in the events section at the bottom of this page for more details and registration.

  • Presenting Around The World (PATW) Competition is planned for the first quarter of 2015 and will be held at Bangor University. Final year students will be invited to enter this competition who will be required to produce a presentation which will be judged by a panel from the Wales North Network. The winner will receive a cash prize and the opportunity to go onto the national finals. This is an open event and therefore, candidates from Glyndwr University, Coleg Menai and Coleg Cambria will also be eligible. Further details will be published once the event date is confirmed.

Welcome to the IET Wales North Network. Here you will find various items of information relating to our activities such as local network open meetings, and also contact details for members of the committee. We are planning a number of interesting events in the coming year including lectures and visits to industrial premises. We also hope to host the Present Around the World competion which we had a great deal of success with last year. Please keep looking at our "News" page which we will be updating in the near future.

Tom who studied at Coleg Cambria gained a HNC in Engineering and now plans to complete a B.Eng degree course at Glyndwr University.
