Events calendar
Our local events have been added to the Combined Calendar of Events hosted by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).   The calendar can be found here http://www.cc-events-wales.org.uk/.  Local event information will be updated and published both here (scroll down to the bottom of this page) and on the combined calendar website so please check back frequently.


Wales Festival of Innovation 4th - 13th June 2014
We are pleased to announce our role as a partner to the Wales Festival of Innovation.  The Festival is designed to showcase Wales at the forefront of enabling technologies underpinning key industry sectors.  A number of public events will be run throughout Wales including a Joint Institutions Event with Horizon and Hitachi GE : Wylfa Newydd Power Station.  More information will be posted here and on the the offical Festival website as soon as it becomes available.

The National Eisteddfod 2013, Denbighshire
Over 2000 people visited our stand during the 2013 National Eisteddfod, 2nd - 10th August 2013.  Bedecked with posters, 6 separate activites and a table for constructing LED torches the stand (shown below) proved very popular with young and old alike.

Visit to RAF Valley
Members of the Wales North local network and the Aerospace TPN are pictured below during their visit to RAF Valley on 16th January 2013.

 Awards
Congratulations to Rhys Williams on being awarded the IET Wales North local network prize for student excellence 2012.  Rhys is shown below receiving his award from Ken Newis of the Wales North Network on 25th October 2012.  Rhys is an HNC (Electrical Technology) student at Deeside College and is an apprentice at UPM Shotton.




Congratulations to Tristan Whitmore-Stewart for being awarded Student of the Year 2012 - Outstanding Progress, Mechanical and Building Engineering.  Tristan is shown below having received his award from Ken Newis of the IET Wales North Network.

Welcome to the IET Wales North Network. Here you will find various items of information relating to our activities such as local network open meetings, and also contact details for members of the committee. We are planning a number of interesting events in the coming year including lectures and visits to industrial premises. We also hope to host the Present Around the World competion which we had a great deal of success with last year. Please keep looking at our "News" page which we will be updating in the near future.
