Community Information

The Local Network provides networking and membership related services for members.  It holds regular meetings and events of a technical interest open to members and guests living and/or working in Southern California.  About 180 IET Members are in the Local Network area with most living in Los Angeles, San Diego and Orange Counties.  The IET has had  a prescence in the region since a Sub-Section of the West Coast Center (Northern California) was started in May 1996.  In March 1997 the Southern California Centre of the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE) was approved by the IEE Council.  The Centre was very active for about 12 years and has recently undergone a reformation.
