The F1 in Schools World Finals 2013 was held in Austin, Texas on 10-12 Nov.  Thanks go out to our Texas members Saf Asghar, Chris Curran, Ben Tze Kek, Ralph Ladd, Soren Maloney, and Norm Ritchie who volunteered to be judges and IET ambassadors for the weekend!  Here's a fantastic video from the finals... and here's a blog from Ben Tze Kek  and here's a writeup from Norm Ritchie

The IET is proud to be a supporter of the F1 in Schools Program.  Students design race cars using a 3D CAD program.  They analyze the aerodynamics using a Virtual Reality Wind Tunnel.  Then, they make their car out of balsa wood using a Computer Numerical Controlled router.  In Austin, students will be judged on their verbal presentation, their design portfolio and pit display, and their CAD data and folios and they will race their cars.
